Celebrating 150 years of Alice in Wonderland
This year marks the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland and to celebrate the literary creation is an award winning RHS Garden. The Plantation Nursery in Surrey are excited to announce that they will be hosting this favourite RHS Garden for a limited time this month. The garden will be available to all to view from Saturday 11th July and will appeal to all lovers of gardens and childrens literature.
Ahead of all four RHS Gardens holding various Alice in Wonderland inspired activities, The Plantation will be inviting the public to join in the fun. On Saturday 18th July the nursery will be hosting a family day with activities such as; having your photo taken with the mad hatter, planting your own seeds and face-painting.
Renowned for their topiary, wholesale nursery Agrumi have created a fun and fitting feature for the 150th anniversary of the publication of the Macmillan publication of Alice in Wonderland. Topiary figures such as the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts (her dress decorated with red sedums) are placed on a giant chessboard made of turf and dried, natural moss, which has been dyed organically in contrasting colours. The whole is surrounded by living willow posts and rope.
